Preliminary task video- EDI

EDI- It would have gone better if every camera we wanted to use have some battery, because each time we went to film our short video the camera would just die on us. We used about 4 camera before we got one that had a good battery, this was one of the problems that we faced when we was trying to film. Also we had a problem when we tried to import the video to the mac, then we had trouble trying to upload it to youtube because of the cameras as well. This was a good challenge for use allow it was hard to over come, but as a team we managed to sort it out. In some of our shorts our filming of the camera wasn't the best but it didn't make our film bad at all.

WWW- The way that we got on together as a group, we worked really well the whole way though the task even when we got to the hard parts of the task. Also Donna done a really good job on filming our short video. Me and Alisha done a good job on our acting though out the film. My editing skills have got much better from this task because there was much more for us to edit and work on. We used match on action effectively from the first short to the last. Our use of short/reverse/short was used effectively too, and the way keep to the 180 rule though out the filming. I thought the whole task went well because we finished it in as soon as we could, we uploaded it to youtube and then we exported it and embedded it to our blogs, this was a new for use so as a group we done really well!

Breif

To create the titles and opening of a new fiction film.
I have been set the task of creating my own thriller film or romantic comedy, and in a group we have to film ourselves the opening sequence to the film.
As a group we have to make sure the film look really good by making sure all the editing is done to our best ability. We have to make sure it stands out to the viewer with the good choice of location, the use of good props, and we also need to make sure we include other media elements that are: cinematography, mise-en-scene and sound. We need to make sure a 100% effort is put into our project so as a group we can get the best mark possible, but for use to also be happy with our film.

Step two- I browsed for the picture.
Step three- I then uploaded it to my blog.

The task that wasn't great was the Donnie Darko one because, the group I was in didnt really comunicate well with each other it was hard to get them to do there lines and to concentrate on what we was ment to be doing. I also thought that they didn't put much hard work into the short 3 minute film that we had to put together. It was also hard becuse in the clip of Donnie Darko ther was a whole class in the panning shot and in our group ther was only five people, but we made it work in the end. Our use of continuity and montage editing wasn't the best but we all tryed to make it work. For example the first few shots we took where on a friday and we all had different costumes on so when we can back to the class on tuesday then we had to re film all of our work so that the continuity was perfect.This was one of the hard things about the Donnie Darko task that I thought we struggled with in filming. Also the editing wasn't affective enough to make the film work when we watched it back, we could then see what was good and what was really bad about our short film.

The task I enjoyed the most was the jobsite advertesment. It was really intersiting to be in a group of people that I didnt know and for use to put together such a good advert for the class to see.
I learnt alot in this making of our task for example: how to cut and edit the advert, to do a very effective voice over, the use of long and short shots in the advert, to help my group to learn lines and if they got stuck for me to tell them there lines, to make our adver the same as a real advert and the use of colour and lightung in our filming.
It all went well because we just got on with the task and alow we didnt know each other we did really well on helping each other out with lines, editing and the filming of our advert. It also went well because we used a lot of different camera shots, our good use of effects and the voice overs made the advert more simular to the real advert itself.
